" In the world of tales, heroes cross the sky on flying carpets, walk with magic boots, built castles in a single night. Tales opened to me doors of a new world where freedom and courage reign, and gave birth to the dream of a better life."

Maxime Gorki

The art of storytelling

Art of story telling goes back to unmemorable times. The folklore of the world is rich of 1001 tales as fascinating the ones as the others. Through storytelling, the young audience discovers the stories and the legends retold for centuries. Tales also present human values which are still quite alive today. Théâtre de la Source’s storyteller will enchant you with her stories from all over the world and will take in a universe of adventures !

Sylvi Belleau received a master's degree in theatre arts at UQAM. She has been the artistic director of Théâtre de la Source since the company was founded in 1985. She is active as an author ("Béfana la sorcière de Noël", "Sadako", Hanuman, Julbock le bouc de Noël), actress, and storyteller for young audiences. In addition to her activities as an author and actress, she works regularly in the educational community as a teacher and animator.
